He was considered to have one of the fastest serves in the world.

Won numerous tournaments on the US West Coast.

At the Eastbourne 1925 tournament he beat Patrick Wheatley of Great Britain in a 6?0 set that took only 9 minutes ! This is still considered the fastest set ever played in a tournament match.

In Wimbledon 1925 he reached doubles final together with John Hennessey (they lost to Lacoste/Borotra in 5 sets).
