Les Poidevin ???

Hello friends, i''m italian....forgiveme for my english:-))
I have a question to do about the player LES POIDEVIN from Australia:

In the draw of Australian Open 1934 i read that he played that tournament and he lost at first round against Fred Perry  6-3 6-2 2-6 6-2.
I was very curious because i never heard about him and he won a set against Perry!
From my research i found that Les Poidevin born in 1876 and died in 1931.......
Who played that tournament ???
I'm doing a research but don't found nothing till now.
Please let me know if you have news i'm curious.
