About

Thomas Tatchell, the lawn tennis player, was the son of another Thomas Tatchell. The former’s paternal grandfather emigrated to Australia from England in the 1850s and became a very successful businessman and public figure in the state of Victoria. The lawn tennis player was also a talented cricketer and played two first-class matches for Victoria in the mid-1880s.
