From the internet:
Jack Brawn served his country from 1940-63 in Canada, United Kingdom, North Western Europe and the United States of America. He also served in Indochina as a senior staff officer with the United Nations International Control and Supervisory Commission from 1959-60. Following his retirement from the Army he entered into private business in Vancouver.
Prior to World War II Jack was the Vancouver and provincial tennis champion on several occasions and was selected to play on the Canadian Davis Cup team. He was very proud of his role in coaching and developing junior tennis players in the Province. Jack was President of the British Columbia Lawn Tennis Association in the 1960s and during those years received the honour of being named ‘Mr Tennis’. Jack was an avid student of politics, music (particularly Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw) and all matters financial.
