Ralph Tailby was a key member of the Waterloo Tennis Club in Kitchener, Ontario, for many years, both as a player and, from 1964 to 1968, as its president. During the winter months, he often played squash and, with Barney Lawrence, an international squash player, he later founded the Kitchener-Waterloo Squash Club. Ralph Tailby was a partner in the chartered accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand in Kitchener. He died of a heart attack while on holiday in the Bahamas at Christmas in 1978.
