About

Arnold H. Wolff was a talented amateur photographer who lived with his wealthy parents and some of his siblings at The Clough, and then by 1906 as a farmer with his wife and children at Ross Mill Farm, both in Hale Barns. He used a high-quality camera with glass plate negatives and recorded the calm, rural character of the area and its inhabitants, including his family, in the face of rapid change and encroaching housing development.
