A native of Pierce County, he had lived here most of his life except for when he served his country in the Merchant Marines. Mr. Kimbrell had farmed for fifty-seven years. He was the chairman of the Advisory Board for the RYDC, was the president of the Forest Owners Association and was the director for Pierce County on the Satilla Soil & Water Conservation Board. Mr. Kimbrell was a member of the Mershon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member/teacher of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He had forty-seven years perfect attendance in Sunday School. Mr. Kimbrell was a son of the late Charlie K. & Mary Elizabeth "Mamie" Dowling Kimbrell and was also preceded in death by a sisterBirdie Ariel Kimbrell, and a brother, Charlie Foye Kimbrell.
