Edgar Weller (1917-2003) won many junior titles. Among those were doubles titles with Bob Kamrath, the national boys’ 15 doubles title and the University Interscholastic League Championship. From 1935 to 1938 Weller played tennis for the University of Texas under Dr. Daniel A. Penick. He and Bob Kamrath won the Southwest Conference doubles title twice. After graduation he remained a very active supporter of UT Tennis. The Wellers established a trust that provided funding for indoor courts at the University. The Edgar O. and Melanie A. Weller Tennis Center opened in 2013.
