Report The 18th edition of this tournament proved to be the last.Although a 19th edition was announced in 1973,it was eventually cancelled.
However, the tournament made a comeback in 1987 as Wilhelmshöhe Open.Since 1998 it is staged as an ITF-Future event.
The courts of the club are part of the mountain park residence Wilhelmshöhe which was built by the Landgraves of Hesse during the 18th century. The tennis courts themselves were built for the entertainment of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. and his family, who used the castle as summer residence. Today they are still called the “princes` courts”.
