Report Bratek and Konczak were both born as subjects of the austrian emperor and came from Katowice (Kattowitz) which was part of Austrian Silesia up to 1918/19.
This area was annexed by the Greater German Reich after the end of the polish campaign in the autumn of 1939 as Eastern Upper Silesia and became part of the province of Silesia. Apparently, both players had no problems to be accepted as german citizens and were able to participate in these championships.
Konczak is described as a 22 year old coalminer from Katowice in the report.
