Report When the eleventh edition of the most important championship in the region was held, in its masculine version, the authorities of the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club allowed the participation of the women, who were beginning to be competitively ordered. The tournament began on Thursday May 21, 1903 at 10, with several matches of various levels. Mrs. Knight (Rosarina Magdalena Joulet, Mrs. Albert Alfred Knight, father of those who would dominate the contest) offered tea to those present, a mission that was carried out each day by different ladies. The tournament was divided by category: Championship (CH) that was played to the best of five sets and Class A (A) and Class B (B), to the best of three. The finals were scheduled for Monday, May 25 but the rain prevented all the games from ending, postponing until Sunday, the 31st of the same month. That day was also a meeting called Club Testimonial, consisting of an elegant coffee and tea service presented by George McHardy, one of the most important businessmen of the time. The president of the BALTC, Thomas Scott Boadle, thanked McHardy for his connection with the institution in the previous 10 years by awarding him an award.
