Report From The New York Herald (Paris), 25 June 1900: Monsieur Aymé wins Lawn Tennis Championship. He disposes of Monsieur André Prévost and then beats Mr Sands. Some fine play. The finals of the French club’s singles championships were played yesterday afternoon on the courts of the Tennis Club de Paris, at Auteuil. Spectators were treated to some very fine play on the part of Monsieur Paul Aymé. In the semi-final round he easily disposed of Monsieur André Prévost, of the Île de Puteaux Club, by 6-3, 6-0, and then beat Mr Charles Sand, of the same club, by the score 6-3 6-0 7-5. The general opinion was that Mr Sands would run Monsieur Aymé very close, but the latter proved to be in irresistible form and never gave his American opponent a chance, although the latter at one time looked like winning the third set.
