About

The best of the early male Swiss lawn tennis players. Studied medicine in Geneva, receiving his doctorate in 1911; then pursued surgical training at the Cantonal Hospital of Geneva. Colonel of medical troops; occupied several related posts, including chief doctor of the first division. Vice-president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (I.C.R.C.) from 1930-37.
