Frank Clogg attended Saint Olave’s School in London before going up to Cambridge University. After further studies in Berlin and Heidelberg, he entered the Methodist ministry. He later held various academic positions including those of Tutor in New Testament Language and Literature at Richmond College, London, and Professor in the same subject at the University of London, retiring in 1949 when he became Professor Emeritus. He was also a governor of Saint Olave’s School and of the Leys School, Cambridge, and in 1944 he was appointed Chair of the Board of Studies in Theology at the University of London. Several works, articles and reviews by him on the subject of religion were published during his lifetime. His final professional title was Professor Reverend Frank Clogg.
