Attended Eton College and Cambridge University, England. Was elected at the January 1910 general election as a member of parliament (M.P.) for Leicester, serving as parliamentary private secretary to David Lloyd George, but resigned from Parliament in 1913 following a divorce case. Served in the British Army during both world wars. In later life he wrote a great deal of fiction as well as political texts and devoted himself to Welsh affairs (his father was Welsh).
