Went to Oxford University. Took holy orders. Ordained deacon, 1860; priest, 1861. Rector of Colmworth, Bedfordshire from 1868 to 1906. Married Adelaide Maria Gladstone in 1868. They are the parents of the three Allen brothers. Mrs Adelaide Allen died in England on 8 April 1906, four days after her husband had died in France.
