During the Great War, Imperial German baron and general officer Adolf von Seckendorff was brought back into active duty as Etappen-Inspekteur (Line of Communication Inspector) for various inspectorates. During the pre-War years, General Seckendorff served as Paul von Hindenburg’s Fourth Army Corp’s Chief of Staff. He was later the Commandant of German fortresses in Mainz and Königsberg. General von Seckendorff’s father served in the entourage of the Prince of Reuß (Younger Line).
