Enlisted, November 25, 1901, in Troop 1, Squadron A Cavalry, New York City. Served thru the ranks and commissioned, 2nd Lieutenant, Cavalry, July 1, 1912, promoted 1st Lieutenant, July 22, 1913.

Mustered-in for service on the Mexican Border with Troop A, Squadron A Cavalry, June 30, 1916, New York City. Squadron A Cavalry returned from the border, December 23, 1916 and mustered out of border service, at the Squadron A Armory,December 28, 1916, New York. Discharged from Squadron A Cavalry, Feb. 3, 1917.

Served with his brothers in Squadron A Cavalry, John T 1899 - 1904 and Louis P 1897 - 1901 and brother in law Trowbridge Marston.

World War 1, he help organized a battalion of the New Jersey National Guard.

World War 2, served with the War Department as a specialist in transportation.
