About

Cairns will learn with much regret of the decease of Mr. D'Arcy Mullamphy, formerly on the literary staff of the Cairns Post. Mr. Mullamphy left Cairns between four and five years ago. After a period at Mackay he proceeded to Launceston, where he held a responsible position on one of the daily papers. Subsequently he went to Adelaide, still on journalistic work. He passed away in that city; it is understood that he met with an accident in a city street there. Mr. Mullamphy was only 31 years of age. He was a brilliant tennis player, as well as an efficient pressman. Whilst here in Cairns he won several important tennis events, and he continued his good form in the South. Mr. Mullamphy married a North Queensland girl. There were two or three children, who are bereft of their father and breadwinner. For the young wife and the little ones, universal sympathy will be felt.
