About

This player was born in British India, lived in New Zealand in the mid- to late 1880s (when he won the men’s singles title at the Napier tournament in December 1885, and the same title at the Auckland Championships in February 1889) and then moved to Brisbane, Queensland (where he won the men’s singles title at the Queensland Championships in October 1889). He also seems to have spent some time living in Shanghai, China, but as of 1911 was living in Claygate, Sussex, where he was working as an insurance manager. It is possible that he died in South Africa.
