A native of Cuba, Leonardo Diaz-Albertini was one of the four sons of Jorge Diaz-Albertini and Angela Jimenez Diaz-Albertini (née Rodriguez). Leonardo was the member of Racing Club de France and was one of the founders of another sports club located in Paris, the Société Sportive de I'Île de Puteaux, located on island in the Seine near central Paris.
