Stavros Panagopoulos was a Greek table tennis and tennis champion and (since 2016) coach and owner of the Marathon Tennis Club. He is the father of tennis champion Dionysia "Deniz" Panagopoulos.
He was a member and athlete of the Athens Tennis Club and was known by the nickname "Sofos". He was first in the Panhellenic Championship in men's doubles in 1956, 1957 and second in 1958. He had participated with the Greek National Team in the 1954 Balkan Cup and in meetings between states, he was first in Ball boys in 1952. At the individual level, he has participated in many domestic and foreign tournaments.
In the Spring Championship he was first in doubles in 1953, 1954, 1956, 1957, and in mixed doubles in 1956. In the Autumn Championship he was first in doubles in 1956, in the Dodecanese Games he was first in doubles in 1953. He was first in the "Kifissia Group Championship" in singles in 1954 and in doubles in 1954 and 1955, also first in 1954 in the "Lena Zarifi Cup".
In table tennis he was third in the 1953 Spring Championship.
