Stuart Anderson was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Kenneth B. Anderson. Stuart Anderson attended Westminster School in London before going up to Cambridge University.

Retired with honorary rank of Brigadier-General, 1920. Director of the Exchange Telegraph Co., Ltd. Married and had issue.
