Rollin Feitshans was from Illinois but shortly after the 1904 St. Louis Olympics moved to the Los Angeles area, where he worked for the city in various administrative roles. From 1921-25 he was Commissioner of the Board of City Planning, then was a member of the Board of Education from 1923-27. He was a commissioner of the Board of Trusts from 1925-39, serving as the President of that Board from 1925-39. Feitshans only other known tennis competition was losing in round one of the 1912 US Championships.
Feitshans’ extended family became prominent in Hollywood. His son, Frederic, Jr., was a film editor, and minor director and producer, who had 71 films to his credit, including a 1969 Oscar nomination in film editing for “Wild in the Streets.” His grandson, Buzz Feitshans, III, was a producer and cinematographer, who was a producer on the first few Rambo movies. His great-grandson, Buzz 4, was a movie and television cinematographer, who started out as a cameraman.
