About

Brother of fellow tennis players Clifford and Edward Sutter. In 1936 and 1937, Ernest Sutter won the singles title in tennis at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), thereby following on from his brother Clifford, who had won the same title in 1930 and 1932. They are the only brothers to have achieved this feat; while doing so, they both represented Tulane University in their native New Orleans. Their brother Edward also attended the same university.
