About

Art Foust (1937-1987) moved to Houston with his family when he was 11 years old. He began playing tennis at 13 and went on to play at Rice Institute. After a successful tennis career at Rice where he won many of the major collegiate titles, Foust went into teaching and coaching. He was an active member of the several tennis organizations, including the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation. In 1986 he received the W.T. Caswell Service Award for outstanding service to tennis in Texas. USTA Texas established a sportsmanship award in his name.
