George C. Glenny was the brother of fellow lawn tennis players Charles J. Glenny and John W. Glenny. George studied law at Cambridge University in England and initially practised as a solicitor, but in later life emigrated to New Zealand, where he managed a sheep farm in Hawke’s Bay.
