Arthur F. Taylor was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Mabel Taylor, who notably won the women’s singles at the Queensland Championships in 1893. They were two of the children of Frederick Taylor, Collector of Customs in the city of Maryborough, in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, and Catherine Taylor (née Littleton). Arthur Taylor became a prominent businessman in later life. He married Ada Helen (Nellie) Meston on 11 October 1902 in Brisbane.

From The Brisbane Courier, 16 April 1927
The many friends of Mr Arthur Fielder Taylor, who was well known in Brisbane business circles, and had been associated with the Queensland Trustees Ltd. for over twenty years, will regret to learn of his death, which took place yesterday. As officer in charge of the company’s real property department, Mr Taylor’s integrity and business acumen were generally recognised, while he also gained the respect of the clients with whom he was called upon to transact business.
