Sidney Spiro was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Douglas Spiro. The Spiro family spent some time living in Victoria, Australia, during the second half of the nineteenth century, and both Spiro brothers took part in the Victorian Lawn Tennis Championships in Melbourne in October 1884.
