Jacques Quiry was the son of Alfred Gabriel Quiry, a tennis coach, and Jeanne Juliette Quiry (née Frémy), a dressmaker. As a 16-year-old, Jacques Quiry took part in the first edition of the International French Championships in 1925, but did not play much competitive tennis thereafter. A publicist by profession, he died in January 2010 at the age of 100.
