Guy S. Back was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Hugh Back. Both brothers attended Cambridge University, England, and later took holy orders.

Back, Guy Seymour. Admitted pensioner at Trinity, August 20, 1884. Son of Samuel (1843), Vicar of Maxstoke, Warwickshire. School, Marlborough. Matriculated Michaelmas 1884; B.A. 1887; M.A. 1892. Ordained deacon, 1894; priest (Canterbury) 1895; Church of Saint Mary’s, Dover, 1894-9. Church of All Saints, Westbrook, Kent, 1899-1901; Vicar there, 1901-21. Chaplain to the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital, 1902-21. Rector of Dymchurch with Eastbridge, Orgarswick and Blackmanstone, Kent, 1921-6.
