From the internet: William D. Love graduated from the University of Toronto in 1899. He moved to Winnipeg in 1903 and was employed with Western Canada Flour Mills. He received an accounting degree in 1908 and worked in the Mexico City office of an accounting firm for several years before returning to Winnipeg and establishing his own firm, W. D. Love and Company. On 7 June 1911, he married Laura Augusta “Gussie” Drewry (1887-1972), daughter of Edward L. Drewry, and they had five children.

He was President of the Manitoba Lawn Tennis Association and President of the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club for over 20 years. He was the Manitoba tennis champion (1908-1909) and Western Canada champion (1929). He was a charter member of the Winnipeg Winter Club and an honorary life member of the Manitoba Club. He sang in the choir at Saint Stephen’s-Broadway Church and Saint George’s Anglican Church and was a member of the Men’s Musical Club of Winnipeg.
