László Dörner had success in the 1920s and early 1930s both as a footballer and lawn tennis player and also as a coach in both of these sports. He represented Romania in the Davis Cup in the late 1920s, but moved to Hungary circa 1930. He was subsequently a successful professional tennis coach in Budapest and was also involved in a sports goods business.
