Charles Grummit studied medicine at Cambridge University, England. He was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Gilbert Grummit.

Grummit, Charles Christopher. Admitted at Caius College, October 1, 1885. Matriculated Michaelmas 1888. Resided four years. At Saint Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. Member Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.); Licentiate Royal College of Practitioners (L.R.C.P.), 1897. Admiralty surgeon and agent. Practised at Brighton and at Kingsbridge, Devon, in 1898. Served in the Great War, 1914 (Captain, Royal Army Medical Corps). Of 7 Pavilion Parade, Brighton, in 1943.
