Charles Grummit studied medicine at Cambridge University, England. He was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Gilbert Grummit.

Member Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.); Licentiate Royal College of Practitioners (L.R.C.P.), 1897. Admiralty surgeon and agent. Practised at Brighton and at Kingsbridge, Devon, in 1898. Served in the Great War, 1914 (Captain, Royal Army Medical Corps). Of 7 Pavilion Parade, Brighton, in 1943.
