Guy Lefort, who excelled not only at lawn tennis but also and in particular at football, was killed in an avalanche while skiing in the French Alps in February 1935. He was 27 years of age at the time of his death. Stade Guy Lefort, a stadium in Lille in northern France, is named in his honour.
