Count Joseph H. de Robiglio was the son of Count Joseph de Robiglio, who was probably Italian by birth, and Countess Robina de Robiglio (née Hamilton Salmond), who was a native of Glasgow, Scotland. Count Joseph H. de Robiglio married the American Elise Sarah King in 1884. Their only surviving child, Robina Margharita de Robiglio, also enjoyed some success on the lawn tennis court, and in 1904 reached the final of the women’s singles event at the South of France Championships in Nice, the same tournament at which her father had won the men’s singles event in 1896.
