Higher education. Graduated from the Institute. Herzen (Faculty of Physical Education and Sports) in 1956.
He started playing tennis at the age of 13 on the courts of the LOS Dynamo. Coaches: G. Korovina, E. Kudryavtsev, M. Myachenkova. Master of Sports of the USSR (1962). He was one of the "twenty" strongest tennis players of the USSR (1956-60).
Multiple champion of Leningrad in singles, doubles and mixed categories. Finalist of the RSFSR Championship in singles (1957). Bronze medalist of the tournament of the 10 strongest tennis players of the USSR (1957).
As a coach, he has been working with amateur players for many years.
