About

He was the first and oldest son of Noble Harris Briggs and Agnes Seabold.
He graduated from Plainfield High School (New Jersey) in 1904.
He won the Interscholastic lawn tennis championship on May 9, 1905, in the Columbia University tournament on the courts of the West Side Lawn Tennis Club. Briggs defeated C. E. Van Vleck, Jr., of the Montclair High School 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. As the winner of the tournament, Briggs was privileged to enter at the National Championship Tournament at Newport, in August, and meet the winners of the Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and other collegiate tournaments for the national interscholastic title and honors.
He played in the National Singles Tennis Tournament in New York, lost, but kept playing.

He was buried Fairview cemetery, Westfield, Union County, New Jersey.
