Gordon P. Goode was an arts student at the University of Adelaide in the years leading up to World War One. During the war, he served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC). He had reached the rank of corporal by the time of his death from enteric fever in the 21st General Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt, in October 1915 at the age of 29.
