Arthur Kirby married fellow lawn tennis player Amy Wilson in 1896; their son, Arthur Wilson Kirby, was born in London on 26 May 1897. In later life the family lived in South Africa. Amy Kirby won the women’s singles title at the South African Championships a record six times between 1904 and 1912.
