From Le Figaro, 13 December 1926: Death of Baron Saillard. Our esteemed colleague, Baron Rodolphe Saillard, editor of L’Auto-Vélo and chronicler of tennis, died in the night from Saturday to Sunday last of congestion of the lungs. He was 56. This death will come as a painful surprise to the numerous athletes who knew and appreciated our colleague, who at one time was an excellent fencer and a very good tennis player.
