He won 3 three Hungarian championships (in certain age group) in singles (1983-85) and also in doubles (1984-87). He was 5 times Hungarian National Champion in singles (1988-89, 1991, 1994,'03) and he won total 11 championships in doubles, mixed and in the team category. At the age of 17, he played first time in the Davis Cup and he played a major role in the wins against Argentine and Australia. The latter was beaten 3-2 in Budapest in 1995 and Hungary qualified for the World Group that time.
