About

He was famous for his ambitions on the court, he did not let go of any ball. Almost throughout his career (which ended in 1984), he defended the colors of Bydgoszcz clubs, but he was a student of Start Grudziądz. During his then compulsory military service, a tennis player for Zawisza (1967–1969), and then for the Polish community. He won 24 titles of the Polish champion (seven times in singles and doubles during the same tournament!) And 2 in the MMP. For 14 seasons, he was classified in the top ten of the PZT singles ranking, including ten times in a row in the top three, but only once - just before the end of his career - in first place. In the Daviscup team, the balance is clearly negative, but he fought against great players of his time, such as the Swede Björn Borg, Italians Corrado Barazzutti, Paolo Bertolucci and Adriano Panatta, and the Czech representative of CSRS Jan Kodeš. Bronze medalist of the 1980 European Championships in Sopot in doubles (with Tadeusz Nowicki), quarterfinalist of the same tournament in singles.
In 1984 he went to Turkey where he was a playing coach.
