About

In the Census of England taken in 1851, Frank Pearson’s paternal grandfather, John, listed his profession as shoemaker. Frank Pearson’s father, George, rose in the professional world and became an accountant and a civil servant with the Treasury. Frank Pearson himself also joined the civil service (in the Census of England taken in 1911, his occupation is listed as Government Servant). During World War One, he served with the Royal Army Service Corps and rose to the rank of captain.
