In 1931, he registered with was then the National Aviation School in Wahlhaven, near Rotterdam, where he obtained a pilot’s license in 1932. In the mid-1930s, he developed a sports aeroplane called Lambach HL I. Subsequently, in order to help develop the Lambach HL II, he founded the company Lambach Vliegtuigen (Lambach Aeroplanes) in 1937. However, he did not have much success with this company and further developments were hindered by the outbreak of World War Two in particular. In 1937, he and most of his employees joined the Fokker Aircraft company. After the war, Jan Limbach worked for various consulting companies until his death.
