John Eberhardt was from a large family of brothers from Salina, Kansas known for their athletic prowess. They were the sons of Christoph Eberhardt, who had a lumber business in Salina and helped found Kansas Wesleyan University in 1886. John Eberhardt became known as a pillar of Salina’s civic and business community. He developed tuberculosis and spent time at Dr. Kellogg’s Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan where he succumbed to pneumonia.
Brother of Fred and Frank Eberhardt.
