About

Marvin Wachman excelled at tennis at Washington High School in his native Milwaukee before starting to take part in tennis tournaments. He later attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in history. He received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Illinois. A professor of American history, he was also president of Lincoln University and Temple University, and served as interim president of Albright College and the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science.
