About

Henri Morel-Deville was a forwarding agent, probably in the family company Deville & Co. The Morel in his surname comes from his father, André Morel, while the Deville comes from his mother, who was born Isabelle Deville. In April 1926, Henri Morel-Deville married fellow tennis player Gilberte Henry (they would later divorce). Henri Morel-Deville was the brother of another lawn tennis player, Philippe Morel-Deville, who married another player Élisabeth Joba, who was the sister of the player Pierre Joba, who married the player Clotilde Brulliard.
