Grew up in Medford Oregon. Coached by Frank Innes.
Wins the USTA Super National Spring Championships Easter Bowl – Boy’s 18 singles in 1987. The following year wins the USTA Super National Hard Court Championships – Boy’s 18 doubles
Wins the Oregon State High School Boy’s singles championships in 1986 and 1988.
NCAA All American while at Stanford University in 1989 and 1990. Helped Stanford win the NCAA men’s team championship in 1989.
In 1994, wins the French Open Doubles championship, ranked #1 in the world in doubles, ranked #36 in singles, played on the U.S. Davis Cup team which he participated on 3 additional times.
Wins the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles championships with Martina Navratilova in 1995.
Wins the World Doubles Championships in 1997.
Currently Jonathan is the Director of Junior Tennis at the Seattle Tennis Club.
