Lyttleton Fox, 53, prominent attorney
of New York City, who died there
suddenly on April 23rd of heart fail-
ure while reading a newspaper in his
club; was buried on Thursday in the
cemetery of the Methodist Episcopal
church of Milford.
Mr. Fox was the son and only child
of Mrs. Edward Campbell Fox, the
former Mary Eddy, by whom he Is survived.
The daughter of the Honorable
John Eddy and Sarah Eddy, Mr. Fox's
mother was born in Milford, where she
resided until her marriage. Her husband,
who was a member of the New
York Stock Exchange, lies buried in
the same churchyard.
Mr. Fox left a widow and four children. His wife was Genevieve O'Brien,
the daughter of former Presiding Justice
Morgan J. O'Brien of the Appellate
Division Of the New York Supreme
Court and Mrs. O'Brien. His children
are Mrs. Quincey S.Cabot, Miss Cathleen
Fox, and a son, Lyttleton Fox,
Jr. all of New York City and Mrs.
William Barclay Harding of Holmdel,
New Jersey.
Mr. Fox, who spent much of his
childhood at Milford, was born in New
York City on February 22 1881. He
graduated from Yale College in the
class of 1902 and from the New York
Law School in 1904. He took part in
many important litigations including the
famous contested accounting of the
estate of Jay Gould. He served on several
committees of both the Association
of the Bar of the City of New York
and the New York County Lawyers
Association.
